My tumblr url: thankyoufinnickOther sites: My fandoms: Hunger Games, Tolkien, Greek mythology.
What kind of content I post: So this is where it gets slightly complicated.
mildred-of-midgard is my primary, everything-but-fandom blog. I've been here for 10 years and write walls of text about the books I'm reading, my job, my health, my life, my brain, my childhood with my dysfunctional birth family, my travel, and so on and so forth. A lot of people started following when I was writing a bunch of Tolkien scholarship and meta a few years ago, so the tags will be helpful if you're interested in that. I still occasionally post on Tolkien, and have plans for returning to Tolkien scholarship seriously.
I generally don't post about politics or social justice topics, although my opinions may peep through from time to time in the form of asides. I probably won't follow you if you post a lot on these topics, just because I need to control when I access such material, e.g. not right before bed. Otherwise, even if I agree with you, I'll be making speeches in my head instead of sleeping.
thank-you-finnick is going to be my tumblr replacement blog for Hunger Games fandom. I'm planning to leave most things unlocked, such as meta, headcanons, updates on what fic I'm working on or why I'm not working on fic, rambles, ideas for fics that I will never write, etc. In addition, I'm toying with the idea of posting my WIPs behind a friends lock. Comment to be added. Finished, polished work is on AO3.
Access/commenting policies: Number one request: If you go to the trouble of tracking down my passport name, please don't post it in a publicly visible comment. I'm less concerned about internet folks axe murdering me and more concerned about hiring managers linking me to usernames where I post sexually explicit slash fic or complain about my coworkers and so on. I'd prefer to leave my blogs public and searchable and just not have them come up in a search of my passport name.
mildred-of-midgard: Follow away! Most of my stuff is public. Occasional posts are friends-locked, and if I know you from somewhere or I look at your blog and decide I'm comfortable letting you see such material, I'll probably grant you access without asking.
Comment away! If I don't reply, it doesn't mean I hated your comment or you shouldn't leave more (only if I specifically said so or deleted your comment, which has never happened yet). It just means I'm a workaholic with a family who writes a lot of fanfic and moonlights as an academic and has chronic pain that's aggravated by computer use, and I don't always have time or muscular cooperation for more typing.
Unfollow away, I won't be offended! I honestly won't even notice.
thank-you-finnick: Follow away! This blog is mostly empty at the moment, but I'm hoping it will fill up fast with tumblr-like casual updates and maybe something interesting occasionally.
If you're a fan of my posted work and want to see fragments of unfinished and possibly abandoned works, comment to be added to the WIP filter.
Comments are love. My favorite thing about tumblr was that I would post something random about my writing progress and people would hit "like" or "reblog", so I always knew that someone was reading my stuff, without me having to write something that they felt was worthy of writing a whole comment in response to. That was very encouraging during the 2 years in which I was writing a 300,000 word epic without having any actual fics to post for people to read and engage with. If people want to type "like" in a comment, go for it.
If you're on the WIP filter, feedback is welcome! Whether it's constructive or just the word "like." Do read the notes first for things I'm already aware of and have warned you for (like a story being fragmentary or having very weird kinks that you may not be into or whatever).
Unfollow away!
Anything else?: I write for myself, and I like walls of text. If you ask me to cut for length, I will politely suggest that my blog might not be right for you. No hard feelings if you unfollow because you don't want 10,000 word uncut essays showing up in your feed.
I'm trying to get into the whole content warning thing, but it's new and not yet a habit for me, so feel free to poke me if you want me to warn for something specific or just be better about warning in general. Canon-typical violence and violations of sexual consent are just going to be a thing on the thank-you-finnick blog, due to the nature of the fandom and Finnick's backstory in particular.
