My fandoms: I am, at best, a casual fan. Star Trek, Tamora Pierce, Temeraire, general genre nerdery.

What kind of content I post: Art and writing! Fantasy especially. Queer content! I'm bi and in an LTR with another lady nerd, so there's plenty of that. Animator content! I background paint for an animation studio, and I post about work sometimes. In general, a smoothie of personal posts, art posts, writing, and discussions of story and narrative. I'm big on narrative.

Access/commenting policies: Some stuff's screened, usually the more personal posts, but if you're interested enough to add me likely I'll add you back. I'm using it a little bit like a hybrid of old-school LiveJournal and current tumblr -- I want to combine the vivacity and thoughtfulness of tumblr with the personal touch and ability to interact of LJ.

Anything else?: Looking for other writers/genre nerds/artists! I'm not super active fandom-wise (although I dipped into panfandom DWRP a few years ago). Also, anyone's welcome, but I would especially love to touch base with other 30-ish nerds. Tumblr makes a gal feel old. :u

Hello! I, also, am a casual fan, at best. I am also nerdy/geeky (though mostly a writer (mostly fantasy, some sci-fi), rather than a visual artist. My tumblr is aegipan-omnicorn.

My current "Birthday Resolution" is to write a new drabble every day... I've already missed days, but I'll consider it a success if I manage to write ~300 drabbles before my next birthday, and I'm still writing at the end of the year.

Good lord, a drabble a day is a worthy goal! Even if you have the occasional weekend away from drabbling in there, that's a metric fuckton of words!

Heh. I'm five hundred words (five stories) behind, already. But I've already written 2,000 words -- and 20 individual stories that never would have gotten written otherwise.

I decided on this, in part, because I've nearly always reached NaNoWriMo's word goal, but have never actually gotten to the plot ending I actually want -- my POV characters tend to get stuck in depressive thought spirals at breakfast, and don't get out their front door until 35K words. So I hope, by exercising in the other extreme, I can train myself for tighter pacing.

Shall I put you in my "Daily drabble" access filter, then?

I know what you mean about NaNo. I've done a few and never actually finished the plot of anything... I think you've got the right idea, here. Is each drabble independent of the others, or are you doing a mix of series and one-offs?

It's a mix. ...Though I hope, like full-length novels in a series, that each drabble is capable of standing on its own.

Heck, memories -- she put out the first book in a series about young Numair last year! It's sitting on my bookshelf waiting as a sweet, sweet treat when I've finished some other reading I've vowed to do.

I honestly almost missed it too, except that I'd seen her talking about it ages ago. I'm wondering if it got less press than some of her other books. Tempests and Slaughter is the nice, dramatic title, though -- and apparently it was originally supposed to be just one book, but ballooned into multiple ones.

Maybe it was the delay that did it, I know it was announced years ago and then pushed back several times. No one wanted to get excited just in case it got pushed back again. *shrug*

all my icons are cropped from things i made, or i painted them to be icons. i still haven't filled all my slots, so there's room for more ^^

Pfff! That picture is a delight. Reminds me of Marla White's work -- if you've seen the sad coyote or the stabby cat pin that've been going around lately, that's who I mean.

Yeah, she's an old OC. The art is my partner dray's from several years ago now, but the character is (more or less) the same one I've been doing bits of story about in my journal, named Kaitan.

I should actually update my icon set... it's the same lot I used for my first round of DW like eight years ago...

she looks interesting! what exactly do you mean by 'bits of story'? are you (like me) the kind of person who noodles around on a project whenever it pokes its head up over (mumble) years? or do you do, like, interconnected short stories?

idk, i've only updated my icon set because the old ones were all spock-related. which wouldn't be a problem, but i'm not really running a TOS fan blog and i wanted to showcase a little more of my stuff...
