Oh yes, there was that too. The one quibble I had with the Millions article was that the author firmly conflated sexual and romantic interest as if you could not have one without the other. As an asexual person who is also biromantic, I take a little exception to that. Nick would not need to be sexually interested in anyone to have romantic feelings for Gatsby. Nor would Fitzgerald have needed to have had a sexual encounter with a man to prove or disprove that he could have harbored romantic feelings for a man at one point or another in his life. All in all, it wraps back around to sounding queer to me. ;)
