I loved that that article was pretty much saying even if you don't read Nick as queer (I'm still going to) he is the ultimate ally. Unlike so many similar characters in other classic stories, Nick doesn't stand in a position of moral judgments over any of his fellow characters. He excepts and listens to anyone without judgment. It really is quite admirable.
